Item 1942/41 Mercury Dime 1942/41 Mercury Dime, Rare, Key Date! This coin is from a large estate purchase we made that contained many collections and key date coins. In our opinion this coin appears to be an authentic 1942/41 Mercury Dime with a very sharp and strong date. We are not coin graders so we have provided large 600 dpi scans of the front and back, you be the judge. NOTE: We are not sure what is going on with the reverse of this coin. To us the obverse appears BU but the reverse appears to us to be either struck with a faulty die, struck on a faulty planchet, something laying over the coin when it was struck or some how altered after being struck?? We sent it to NGC and they said a mount was removed. To us and others that does not explain the bolder and lighter strike in different areas on the reverse or the clearly incused areas around the E in dime.
